Summer Time

We have done a few fun things this past week.

Kens went to an awesome Star Wars Birthday party, Spencer turned 4 years old! She had so much fun and couldn't stop talking about Star Wars afterwards.

The kids were in Jedi training. They did relay races and learned how to become a true Jedi.

Kenslee was so excited to give Spencer her present.
We took Kens to "Kung Fu Panda", it is such a good movie. She loved it, and really enjoyed her popcorn and drink.
Happy Father's Day! We made Billy breakfast in bed, and Kens joined him.
We went to "Pump it Up" with our friends, Lincoln, Kate and Lindsay. The kids has such a blast, Kens took a nice long nap.

Kens and Lincoln jumping so high!

This is Kenslee at her last day of swim lessons. She thought she was so big swimming on her own with the noodle.

Billy and I went to the Rascal Flatts concert last night. It was great! The only complaint is it took FOREVER to get there, traffic was so bad. Once we got there we had lots of fun.

Thanks Billy for such a FUN date!

Just Hangin' Out

For the last few weeks we haven't been up to anything too exciting. I gave a talk in Sacrament meeting, Phew... check that off for a couple more years (hopefully). We got a new bedroom set, and went for the king bed, it is HUGE, but very nice. I have been trying to figure out colors to paint a few of our rooms--it is hard because they look so different once you put them on the wall. I think I am finally getting a little closer to deciding (thanks to the help of a friend and Billy has had a few suggestions, most of the time it is "I don't know", but he tries (love you babe)).

We got together with our friends Matt and Erin a couple of weeks ago, and had so much fun. We had a BBQ and went swimming and the men decided to do a little fishing. It was fun to see them, they had been in Hong Kong for 6 months, but I just heard the news that they are off to Mexico City.

Kenslee is SO proud of her Daddy, he caught a huge fish!

Kenslee loved playing with their dog Gunther. Poor girl loves puppy dogs, when will her parents finally give in?!
I do have some amazing news, Billy actually mentioned that he would love to have a little dog running around soon. I thought I would have to just bring home a dog one day and he would learn to love it.
Swimming in the backyard.
It is already too hot to go to the park during the day(I guess it is June in Texas), so if you want to be outside it has to be in water.
Kens and I just started swim lessons this past week. It is a mommy and me class since she isn't three yet. She has such a blast and is such a little swimmer. The entire time we are in the water she has a HUGE SMILE, and screams (happy screams). It is so fun to watch her, I will have to remember my camera next week and get some pictures.
Kens found Billy's golf glove so she put it on and did a little golfing inside. She looks pretty professional.

This is Kenslee snuggling with her favorite blankie. It is so cute, this is how she falls asleep for her naps and at night. She has to find "her corner" and then she plays with it (she likes the little threads) and sucks her thumb.

Kens is starting to talk so big. I can't think of all of my favorite things that she is saying right now but a couple are "That will be GREAT", or "mmmmm, this is delicious". There is one thing that she has been saying for awhile and we have no idea what it means, it is her made up word, "Popie Sosie". If you have heard this word before, let us know, it is really funny.

These were just some fun pictures of what we have been doing down her in Texas!
We can't wait to come to Utah and see y'all!! We love summers in Utah! SEE YOU SOON!

A Couple of my Favorite Books

I got some great books for Mother's Day. My Mom sent me this wonderful book, "Mothering with Spiritual Power", by Debra Sansing Woods. I have only read through half of it, but I feel like I have marked up all of the pages and by the time I am done everything will be underlined. I highly recommend this one to all of you Mothers out there. This will be a book that I will refer back to for many years. Thanks Mom!
My next favorite book was sent to me by Billy's Mom. The cover says it all...

That's right ladies, "Porn for New Moms"! When I got this in the mail I had to take 4 or 5 looks at it to make sure I was reading it right. I was very confused at first. I didn't know what my mother-in-law just sent me. My curiosity got the best of me and I had to glance through the pages. I have never seen a book that is SO TRUE! I will give you a taste of what is inside. The men are all fully dressed (I think there might be a couple topless, but for the most part shirts on), and they are usually holding a darling, little baby. With each picture the man has something to say...
"No, you relax for a while. I've figured out how to fold everything one-handed"

"Well, Inga, the 19-year-old Swedish au pair, is sweet and all, but I'd prefer on older nanny with more experience"

"I figure if I drop the sports channels, we'll max out the college fund in no time!"

"Ooh, volcanic eruption with major blowout. That's so cute, I'll change her."

"Yeah, it's a Maya Wrap. You guys have a problem with that??"

This was a real study that the Cambridge Women's Pornography Cooperative did to answer the question, "What really turns new mothers on?" It wasn't the shirtless fireman that turned most of us on, it is our husband holding our baby that ended up being the turn on. Very interesting and true!!

I still haven't had the chance to ask Billy's mom how she found this book, but I am glad that she had, it is pretty funny! Thanks!

Nana and Poppa Visit - Part 2

On Wednesday we decided to take a trip down to San Antonio. On our way there we stopped in Austin to see the State Capitol. It was really pretty and nice to get out of the car. We stayed in a hotel near the River Walk in San Antonio. I loved the River walk, the atmosphere is so fun and there are so many restaurants to choose from. On Thursday we went to Sea World, it was a great time to go, it was not busy so we didn't have to fight any crowds. On Friday we stopped at the Alamo, it was very interesting and neat to actually see. This was such a great trip and we loved having my parents with us.

Kens thought it was fun to get on cannons for pictures, every time she would see one she would request a picture.

Kenslee was my entertainment in the car. We covered each others hands with stickers.
